Best Pho I have ever had. Amazing, incredibly rich broth.

Tried this place out last week. As far as Vietnamese goes it was just "meh". I had Bun -- the cold noodle bowl -- which I am a big fan of, in general. It was pretty bland. Someone else had the special -- I think garlic shrimp -- and said it was good. They do have yummy bubble tea, but be careful if you're used to the milk tea. Unless you say otherwise they bring you it smoothie-style. Which was super yummy, just not what we were expecting!

Chris helped us throw a retirement party for a co-worker who has been a long time patron of Pho. We had over 50 guests who all loved the food and ambiance with a great time had by all! Service was great and everyone was very accomodating. Everyone loved the salad rolls, Pho soup and chicken on a stick! Thanks for taking such good care of us - I think you will have a bunch of repeat customers!

Came back and this time they stayed open until promised. 1st thing is the decor is nice if you like blue with the blue sky ceiling and wall lighting. 2nd, service was pretty fast and owner decently friendly. 3rd, food was good, about on par with other Pho I had. Peanut sauce was a little flat with the salad rolls. I'll have to try more dishes.

Great Pho in Lake Oswego? My friends and I only go here for the Pho and although we want to try something else each time, we always seem to get the Chicken or Beef Pho, both of which are probably the best we've ever had. If you're getting take-out, make sure you ask for both hot and sweet sauces they serve at the restaurant.

Service can be understaffed and a bit curt but it was tolerable. The wait for our food was not as long as other reviewers experienced. However, the food is just average overall. The noodle bowl a bit bland as were the fresh rolls. We liked the Lavang Salad though. Last thing was that the prices were a bit steep for a Vietnamese place, but I guess they put on an LO premium. I prefer Bambuza for taste and value.

I have experienced much better customer service elsewhere. I didn't like that while I was ordering I didn't receive eye contact from anyone I talked to there. When I am speaking to someone I expect to be acknowledged by you looking at me in the eye ans saying the answer. The lady was very dismissive. I asked about what the bubble tea was and never did she mention that it had little things in the bottom that taste nothing like the juice. All she said it was that it was juice. The food I ordered was portioned great, but it had a wet towel smell. It was weird and kind of gross!

I've been to the old and new location before and found the new location a huge upgrade from the old one. I thought the food wasn't that special, I'm Vietnamese and had my fair share of different Viet cuisines. The service was not very good, a lot of the waiters were teenagers and were unconfident sounding and did not work professionally. It was very crowded and the wait time for food was on the longer side. Our order even got messed up! I wouldn't recommend this place, as it is average food but high prices.

Owner is rude. He came by to take the order and was gruff, didn't write it down, and walked away in the middle of our order. He brought the wrong food and just slammed it down on the table before we could day anything. The wait staff seem nice but the owner is so awful that I will never go there again.

This place is more expensive than most pho places. Why? I guess because its lake oswego. The beef pho was pretty amazing. Everything else was average. The place is clean and very modern. Would I come back? Yes if I wanted to feel like having fancy pho :)

After eating at Pho Lavang's food booth at the Lake Oswego Art Festival, I had to bring my husband with me to try the restaurant. The food again was delish! The dishes we ordered were very fresh. The owner , Chris, was very busy on the floor, keeping his customers satisfied. We love to meet the owners at restaurants making it a more personal experience and showing that they care about their customer service. We feel that Chris was very friendly and accommodating and wish him the best in his new location. The restaurant has plenty of seating and nicely decorated. We can't wait go go back and try new dishes!

What horrible service. Just because you own the place doesn't mean you can be rude. Sure the wings are good but when we order them as an appetizer and our pho shows up first, what's the point? To top it off the pho showed up luke warm, with leather meat all clumped together and a hard ball of noodles in the bottom. We've eaten here plenty of times and know they are better than this. Unfortunately the service we received when we questioned the pho was completely heinous. The woman told us, that's how it is, if you don't like it leave. Ummm how about I'd just like a good bowl of soup. I had to speak to the owner and he walked up to the table and grabbed my chop sticks and started spinning them around in my bowl. Grabbed the bowl, walked away, and threw it in the bussing tray without a word. The waitress walked back by and shaking her head told us we are so much work. So we grabbed our things and left. Thanks for nothing.

All time favorite spot! Pho is wonderful, salad rolls are just right and the peanut sauce is superb! Often you will find my family in there a few times a week! :) My personal favorite is the #42. Shrimp chicken curry soup. It's insane!!! It may take a few times to "get" the servers but when you do.. It's family!

Went with my family last night and we all just loved it! It's hard to find good pho places in Oregon and this has to be one of my favorite now!! We got the house special pho, two pho #5, one of the noodle bowls, and the chicken wings. I had the pho #5 while sharing the chicken wings with my family and they were just delicious! The broth had lots of flavor, the chicken wings were crispy, and the sauce on them were amazing! The service was also attentive and very nice, Definitely going back! If you go, definitely try the chicken wings!!

*THIS IS AN UPDATED REVIEW* I came back here from a very long trip and the only thing my grandparents wanted to eat was a good old bowl of pho. So I decided to give La Vang another shot. The service has improved tremendously, not sure if this is always like this on other business days, but they had new waiters that are very friendly and attentive. I did not feel frustrated with the service at all during my time here. The food was the same, a bit too salty for my tastes. But it's okay Pho for the limited options you have. All in all, better service than before!

Honestly, I love the food and I come here often but it's almost comical how they can never get my to-go order right. My friend and I typically come together and we order the same thing however we both have different specifications. Each time we've ordered to-go they've managed to do some variation of our specifications and our dishes turn out totally backwards. I've also watched the man write down our order to make sure it's correct, so maybe it's just the kitchen staff...who knows. I'll keep coming back, but if you are expecting amazing service rather than just a good meal, i'd recommend some place else.

I love this place. Used to be in a strip mall on Jean road but moved up into a much larger space. Banh mi is excellent! And a relative bargain at $6.

I work in the area and was thrilled to discover a pho and ban mi sandwich place conveniently located to me for lunch breaks. I ordered the combo Vietnamese sandwich and taro bubble tea. Although they were not very busy, it took a over 15 min for me to get my food. However, the sandwich was really good as well as the bubble tea. I'll be back...Next time I'll probably order ahead of time I won't have to wait so long! If you haven't had a Vietnamese sandwich before, you gotta try one ASAP. One of my favs.

Not the best but not the worst pho place I've been to. I ordered the number 5 (round steak pho bowl) and a salad roll/wrap. While the broth isn't that great (it's more watery than anything) and less flavourful for what I'm assuming is because they are trying to accommodate western palettes, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Noodles could be a bit more cooked as well, it was a little hard. The customer service wasn't the worst, but wasn't the best, either. I guess overall this place is just "okay". The interior of the place is nice and a bit fancy compared to other pho places.

They recently moved into a better location not far away, and are now open on Sundays with extended hours with more seating. We had dinner at this new location on 5/11/14 and they were very busy. I'm told it use to be a Blockbusters, but you could not tell. Nice classy atmosphere. My wife and I have eaten at there old location numerous times over the last decade+ and have never been disappointed. We wish we had tried them out sooner after moving into the area. We still go there when possible, but we had to move out of the area in 07. We especially love their fresh tasting shrimp salad rolls, which have mint in them, not found many other places. Every time we have eaten there the food was excellent and exceeded our expectations with a very friendly owner who is quite hands-on. The service is good, prompt, and attentive with minimal staff. It is a very good value for our $ and well worth the trip to Lake Oswego if you are not in the area.

Have eaten from this location a few times since they opened, however only take-out. Their tofu banh mi are definitely above-average, although somewhat inconsistent (at least once, we had cucumber 'slices' that were practically an entire, whole, cucumber stuffed into the sandwich). The salad rolls (-pork) we've had several times, and are FANTASTIC, though, and their noodle and curry dishes also very good. As a few others have noted - they don't seem quite staffed for the level of business they are having, so you are going to have to wait. Even on carry-out orders phoned in well in advance, and arriving to pickup late. Still, it's (on the whole) definitely strongly recommended, as long as you aren't in a hurry!

The pho here is good, the rest is just ok. The service can be rude and you feel like you are a imposition whenever you ask for something. If you go to a pho place on the east side, you get a huge plate of herbs and bean sprouts with your pho, here you get a tiny measly plate, even if there are two people, you are supposed to share this measly plate. Drink refills, napkins etc are difficult. Something else is going on, they have been closed on numerous occasions with no note on the door. There a no open hours on the door and they don't open by what is on yelp, google states another time also. They seem very annoyed to open the doors. Sad because it;s hard to find Pho in LO area.

Pho'Lavang is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. The menu offers a variety of dishes and great lunch and dinner specials. The sauces are very tasty and the protein is lean and savory. Lunch is quick and service is good. Dinner can be a gamble, lots of people get take-out and it can get busy quickly. I definitely recommend this place if you're craving Vietnamese!

This place is named after the owner. Let me tell you this place rocks. I've been to this previous location off Pinkerton Rd and this is a long time coming. He has come a long way but I knew the potential. Food is outstanding! The Lavang Hot wings are the best I've ever had...truly! The PHO is ridiculously good. Small is large and Large is massive. I get the shrimp and bbq pork but wish they would put a lil more meat in there..maybe 1 mo shrimp and a couple more bites of the poke. Ambiance is great! The lighting dim with a blue almost sky painted ceiling lit up bright blue leaving a blue glow in the entire place, music appropriate, great for family, friends, dates and maybe groups. You will find the owner being social with his patrons which is really nice. He's not overbearing but very friendly. He wants to make sure you're being taken care of. Trust me..the food....crazy good. Lettuce wraps are 'to die for'..well don't do that, but def give this a go. Yum! I know I'll be back. Already ate here several times before.

This was our first time there, we went mid week during the middle of the day. We were sat right away with water and time to look over the menu. The lady who took our order was very nice and helpful describing the meal I chose (BUN #18) Our food came quickly, the servings were HUGE, the meals looked delicious and smelled wonderful! The owner was also there, he visited our table and was very friendly. We enjoyed our meals and will definitely return. Thank you!

I like the ambiance at this place so much that it is almost worth it to get ripped off. The pho is excellent but it's $10.00 for a bowl. I feel like that's ridiculous considering all you are buying is rice noodles, broth, jalapeños, bean sprouts, and a small amount of paper thin meat. I love pho and I'm a light eater. I just feel like I'm a stupid American when I pay $10 for a peasant dish. I was actually at a different pho restaurant last night and it was amazing and a lot cheaper. However, it is downtown so parking is a hassle and the ambiance is foodcartish. I know that I just made that word up, but it's the perfect word. I guess you get what you pay for. I just hate feeling like a sucker. Other then that this restaurant is awesome. Furthermore, the other dishes on the menu are priced average.

Gone are the days of MSG laden pho. So much so that you need to down a glass of water with every bite! I miss my Cali Pho places so I suppose I need to set my standards to Oregon. This is better than the place down the street from my home. But it's not the best I've had. Parsley instead of cilantro (definitely catering to American taste buds) I had the lavang bowl. Brisket was chewy not tender and soft. Meatballs were well just meh... Soup was aromatic but a little on the bland and overly sweet side. 3 stars because the place is friendly, clean, and inviting. But food for my birthday standards was just meh.

The new and improved Lavang opened its doors this month just down the road from their original location on Pilkington. After a little frustration locating the restaurant (which is across from Albertson's and next to McDonalds), I was impressed by the new digs. They did a nice job with the large space and as someone in the throws of a home remodeling project, I was impressed with the decor and particularly enjoyed the blue sky ceiling. While the food is substantially the same (my favorite item on the menu is still the #1 Pho with eye round steak, meatball and lean brisket), every element of the restaurant is bigger. Even the volume is turned up, so it is loud and hectic. I noticed they have a bakery case (currently empty), which makes me think they will expand some of those offerings in the future. My 3-star rating is a result of two things. They are currently experiencing growing pains with new staff and it will probably take them awhile to streamline the ordering, service and paying process. In the old space, with 7 or 8 small tables, they had it down to a science. The new space is about 4x the size and it was chaotic during the lunch rush with staff still learning the ropes. Also, as a regular customer for years, my #1 Pho was a bit off today. I have no doubt that after a transition period things will even out and improve. But they seem to have all the elements in place as they take Lavang to the next level.

I typically don't write reviews but after my experience today, I had to write this review to warn all the neighbors about this place. My daughter and I went to this restaurant today for lunch. The food is okay. Not very authentic but it does its job as it's the only Vietnamese restaurant in lake oswego. I went to go pay at the cashier after we are finished eating and this is where it left a sour taste in my mouth. 1. The guy doesn't ring up the transaction. Most likely to avoid any taxes. Fine, none of my business. 2. He scans my credit card and gives me a receipt to sign. I noticed that the price was incorrect by 2 dollars. Not a lot of money, but I just said "excuse me" to get his attention. Without saying a word, he opens up his cash register and gives me the 2 dollars. I was thinking WTF. Also expecting that he would acknowledge with some sort of excuse, but just ends up walking away. Really? They expect to stay in business and expect local neighbors to return? Folks stay away from this place. You have so much better options and we don't need this type of business around us.

This is the only Pho place I know in Lake Oswego. The food is pretty good. I think that the flavors are adapted to more American tastes (the broth seems sweeter than other places). It can get busy during lunch hour. They bring out the food pretty quickly. Good place if you need Pho in Lake Oswego.

Stumbled into this place on the way to the gym! I was a little apprehensive about the menu being so large and having so many options. I have never had Pho before so it was a little overwhelming. With the help of my waiter I decided on the chicken and pork BUN. Served in a bowl with lettuce, basil, cilantro, cucumber & carrot. Topped with crusted peanut and green onions. It comes with fish sauce on the side, which I didn't use. When my bowl arrived I was very happy. Everything appeared fresh, vibrant in color and the chicken and pork looked fresh. I have to say this was a fantastic meal. I added Sriracha sauce to mine which just made all the flavor of the vegetables and meat pop. The chicken and pork were tender, not dried out and cooked clean. Not salty or covered in oil. This was an enjoyable meal. The staff was friendly, not overbearing at all and on top of our needs. The location is spotless and well laid out. There is a full bar and according to other reviews they have a happy hour. This is a well thought out location, layout and a must try for the Lake Oswego and Lakegrove area.

Look Chris is a character! Just get over it! He's a different kind of guy but dang can he make a good Pho! This review is based on the chicken pho and nothing else. When I started eating pho I would try all different meat combinations but what I found was that chicken was my favorite and Pho Lavangs is the best I've had. Can't speak to the rest of the menu but I've had the chicken pho and I shall not stray..

Not cool, parking lot is constantly full and $3 to add broccoli to a small bowl of pho...Probably the worst service I have ever had at a place with such a simple menu...I had to get up and ask for an iced tea refill and another napkin, nobody ever stopped by the table to check on us...Maybe they think Lake O is full if suckers lol but I'm only eating pho in portland from now on...

Nice atmosphere. Nice finish level on interior, including restrooms. Helpful, friendly staff. Pho is great. Little sweeter than most places. Chili oil by request. Pricier than Beaverton area Vietnamese, but nicer interior.

I had my suspicions when passing by this place. My suspicions proved true. Let's face it all political correctness aside, Lake Oswego is the whitest place in the Portland area and therefore I wasn't expecting much more than a white washed version of Pho at a premium price. I will say the design in the place was nice (often very important to white people maybe more than the food). Where should I begin? Let me first say that I lived in Little Saigon (aka Westminster California) for several years so I have had the best pho you will find stateside. That being said let me begin. Upon entering the establishment I was not greated nor even acknowledged. I proceeded up to the counter past the other four groups of customers and said, "just one". The young girl behind the counter who was the most helpful of all said, "please sit where you like". After sitting for about 10 minutes a waitress came up and took my order. She was not very friendly and borderline rude. I ordered a small pho with meatballs and thin sliced beef. A few minutes later my bowl of pho arrived. There was not plate of cilantros, lime and sprouts as usual so I looked around for someone to ask. AFter another five miutes nobody came so I flagged down the young girl at the counter and aske for some. I also ordered a Vietnamese beer (the only good thing I had this night). When The waitress came back with my veggies I asked for a small bowl of sliced raw onions with vinegar on it (Many people eat this with pho). Let's just say that never came. The waitress forgot which is surprising since there were only four other customers in the palce. The pho was not awful but was not good either. It was unusally sweet. Probabaly the sweetest pho I've ever had (and I have had A LOT). There was "one" meatball sliced in two haha. I know it was a small but cmon guys don't be so darn cheap especially since you charge nearly double of other pho places in the city. I will not be goin to this place ever. My advice would be to serve pho up to the standard to whcih you charge. Also, you better learn to give a little better service if you want to make it in Lake Oswego because them peeps are PICKEY and very service conscious. The only thing you have working in your favor is that most of your clientel wouldn't know a good bowl of Pho if they had it. Save your money and wait until you can drive to Sandy Blvd or SE 82nd to get some REAL pho.

First visit here, love the modern decor and super clean atmosphere. Nice menu with many pho options as well as bahn mi, salad rolls and other noodle dishes. Service was quick and so was the food. Food tastes very fresh too, can these guys please come to Salem?

I have ate at new location 3 times. Great Chicken Pad Thai, salad rolls, Pho' & Curry Stew. All though it's hit & miss concerning being short staffed, the food is good.

The food is good and have no complaints. The drinks on the other hand is hit-or-miss, lately the Thai ice tea and Bubble tea haven't been good. The service has been poor lately, slow and forgetting items. This can easily improve though with more training and/or staff.

With this place being one of the few, if not the only Vietnamese restaurant around this part of Lake Oswego, I had high expectations for it. I used to order take out from them quite often when they had their original location because 1) it was the only Vietnamese restaurant near my office and 2) the food wasn't that bad. However, seems as though since they've expanded, the quality of the food has made a drastic decline in flavor and portion, while the prices have significantly increased. The ambiance is much nicer, but that's not what I'm paying for. And service is mediocre, at best. After giving the new location a few attempts, I think I'd rather make the extra drive out to Beaverton for some better quality Vietnamese food and more reasonable prices.

If you are craving pho on a Sunday, your choices are limited. I yelped pho restaurants and took a chance. I was not disappointed. Btw, the address is not right. Restaurant is south of McDonalds. I had the beef pho special and salad rolls. Broth was really good. Well balanced. Just the right ratio of meat to noodles. Along with basil, they include cilantro. Not sure why others don't, but I love cilantro, so it was a bonus. Rarely do I finish the broth, but this was too good to waste! Salad rolls were tasty too, with a good variety of ingredients. I will definitely be back!

Came in for lunch today and as expected, Lavang's was packed. After being seated we waited roughly fifteen minutes before our order was taken, however, the food came out quickly. I pretty much always get the Pho #1 and it as always it was delicious. I did notice that they upped the price of the pho by $1, however, with the new digs I'm not really surprised. I think the owner is used to being able to run the show here by himself. The old space was small and he could take orders, expedite, pretty much have his hand in every pot. This space is just too large for that and he needs to hire another waitress or someone to expedite the food because the service was flat out too slow.

Best Bun bo Hue ( Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) in town. Every dish I've tried re has been outstanding. I frequent a number of Asian restaurants, especially Vietnamese, around town. Without fail, Chris and company deliver delicious Pho, Bun and other fare. Highly recommend!

Pretty great location, good menu, and thus far everything I've eaten here has been quite tasty. Probably my favorite pot stickers around. The small Pho bowls are the perfect sized lunch portions. Seating has never been an issue, though it always seems nicely busy enough to feel a little energetic. Despite the parking lot being generally full during busy periods, I have never had issues finding at least one place to park. Have returned twice and will likely return again.

I don't usually write reviews but this place was such a disappointment I could not help myself. I came here for lunch and I ordered a small bowl of pho #4, when my order finally came out, the bowl was fairly small compared to other pho restaurants; there was so much broth but just a handful of noodles, 1 meatball (cut in half), about 5 pieces of thinly sliced steak, and there was barely any onions/cilantro. The broth was awful..very bland, no anise flavor at all! Service sucked! The waitress and the cashier did not have a pleasant face, did not ask me once how the food was or if I needed anything else. Not to mention the ridiculous price of a small bowl $8.75! This was my first and last time eating here. Don't waste your money and go eat somewhere else. I give them 1 star for effort!

maybe i could have given them one more star for proximity.... im a soup JUNKIE, and come here regularly. is it the best? no, i think it could be more authentic. their broth is a little sweeter than most places, and i wish the menu had a little more variety. but alas, my soup cravings are so intense and frequent that i cant always spend the time to drive 20 mins to satisfy, and im happy to drive on over for a steaming bowl of soup. plus, the owner is extremely friendly. for these reasons, i keep coming back.

Been here twice for pho this week after finding it for the first time earlier this week. The broth is rich and tasty. Service is fast and friendly. Maybe a dollar more than comparable places, but the location is very clean and well taken care of. Definitely recommend going.

I go here pretty regularly as I frequent a cigar lounge down the street and a fellow cigar smoker turned me on to this place. The owner is a gentleman. He makes delicious food, quickly. I always get a large number 10 extra spicy and "ready to eat" which basically just means he throws everything in one bowl so I can enjoy this food network food challenge level spicy while I puff on a cigar and watch some television. I have never had a bad experience with any one working here. In fact I have an on going challenge with the owner to see if he can make my soup so spicy I can cry. He finally succeeded. But even with this massive spicy dish you can still get the taste of every ingredient in the bowl. I believe this is the best pho place in the area! (Forgive any typos I did this on my phone.)

Amazing place! The food is great. I've been to this place twice because the food was so good the first time. I had the chicken and shrimp fried rice and it was delicious. The food portions are big so be ready to eat! The service was good as well. Overall, it's a great place.

Terrible service. Never came to table except once. And then once more with Wrong order. At the cashier, they yelled at me for them screwing up and proceeded to overcharge me. No apologies and they don't take complaints well.

Perhaps a bit harsh given they have been open for only a couple weeks, but nothing went to plan: Sit, wait to order15 mins in 1/3 full restaurant at 5pm. Ordered salad rolls, 2 adult beverages, pho and stir fry dish.....wait 20 mins for the drinks, then pho arrived. The rolls next... Ummm where is the stir fry dish? It went MIA, to another table? We asked again, almost ready, another 15 mins... Nothing. Pho was ok, watery and salty at the same time. Rolls were good. But my hubby' was starving since his dish never arrived.... And it was tIme to go. Let's see if they charged for the entree which never arrived. Not only was it there, but another entree of curry was on our bill. I think who ever got our stir fry also ate curry and made a runner. After arguing, pointing to 2 (not4) empty plates we won our case and they removed the mystery dishes. Prices are steep for Viet even for lake o. New digs are lovely, best part...all pretty and new. 2 stars for growing pains. Been to Lavangs old locale dozens of times and this was a good reminder why I quit going. My money and my Vietnamese love belongs with Mai Asia. Now I'll go back and beg them for forgiveness for attempting to cheat on them.

Have eaten here 2x so far. Food is excellent. Pho was very very good. On one occasion the restaurant was fairly busy and service was slow - but the other time we ate there we had good service as the restaurant was fairly empty. I definitely want this place to succeed -- maybe they could improve their service a bit. But importantly, the food was great and they have decent kids options too.

Restaurant has a nice feel and great look. Unfortunately, the food was meh at best, the service was extremely slow and inattentive, and they over charged me at the register. Too bad too, because the location is very convenient for me.

  • Christy T.

If I could give no stars, I would. We ordered a to-go order over the phone, my friend got what she initially ordered, however, I did not! When I arrived at the restaurant, i mentioned that I was there for a pick up which was called in about 30 mins prior. A man (the owner) told me to "sit and wait"... As I did, he came back a few mins later and apologized, he never put in the order! It was about 3 p.m. when I walked in...there was only one other person in the restaurant eating, I'm sure it wasn't that busy that he forgot. And then I got my bill..20 bucks for a 10-12 oz Thai Iced Tea and 2 vermicelli bowls which had like 6 pieces of chicken. Save your money and eat at a different Vietnamese restaurant (I'm headed towards Bambuza). I'm an Asian woman who has eaten at various Vietnamese locations, this one though, just lost a customer.

DO NOT EAT HERE! I REPEAT: DO. NOT. EVER. EAT. HERE. I've never experienced a more rude, disrespectful owner. There aren't any competent workers at all. There are two owners, Lucy and Chris, who are the "hosts", "waiters", and "bussers". They have a few boys that are sometimes in there bussing but mostly, either Lucy or Chris does everything.. which is a very bad idea . Chris does NOT care about his customers at ALL. He doesn't give the common courtesy of eye contact, a smile, or even complete sentences. He seems to think of his customers as dollar bills, and not human beings. Everything is WAY overpriced for the quality of the food.. you can get much better at Bambuza or elsewhere. Do NOT spend your money here. Although there are many loyal customers who have been coming here since their previous location, Chris ruins every dining experience I've ever had there, either by making me feel insignificant, or by yelling at a customer near me (he charged someone a couple bucks for a single slice of lime and yelled at them when they asked to take it off the bill). There is pretty atmosphere, and OKAY food (not great), but the owner has not earned my respect and will never receive a single dollar from me again.

We went for dinner on a Saturday at 5:00. No issues with parking or waiting for seating or food. Friendly staff, great food! We ordered the #1 (pho) and the chicken bun. So good! The portions are huge, and the flavors are perfect.

    (3)
  • Emily H.

Thank you!

If you are craving pho on a Sunday, your choices are limited. I yelped pho restaurants and took a chance. I was not disappointed. Btw, the address is not right. Restaurant is south of McDonalds. Not sure why others don't, but I love cilantro, so it was a bonus. Rarely do I finish the broth, but this was too good to waste! Salad rolls were tasty too, with a good variety of ingredients. I will definitely be back!

Some of the best Pho I've ever had! #2 large pho, a salad roll, & a Ninkasi...Always hits the spot. Great atmosphere. Great service. Exceptionally great food.

The food is good and have no complaints. The drinks on the other hand is hit-or-miss, lately the Thai ice tea and Bubble tea haven't been good. The service has been poor lately, slow and forgetting items. This can easily improve though with more training and/or staff.

I usually go to Pho Hung in Beaverton which is awesome and a couple bucks cheaper, I only ever order Pho with flank and brisket at either place, the new digs are nice but I kinda liked my secret hole in the wall. Service is a little slower in the new place but I think you have to give and take with authentic restaurants and know what you're getting into. That said, their Pho is the bomb dot com. Great broth, ample meat, just the right blend. The owner is definitely quirky but I really like him, he's passionate about the business and always stops to talk for about 5 seconds then runs off. It helps to know exactly what you want and not be a stuttering picky tourist. Great place, I miss the old digs though.

My expectation was "equal or better" to the experience I had at the place off Pilkington before they moved to this new location. NOT. It was pretty bad. The salad rolls were all dry, Vermicelli noodles were all dry.... just bad. Pho was OK, but nothing else. Felt like they had been sitting out for hours. Before they moved, it was an OK place. They always had small portions which was the only problem for me. The food had tasted much better and it had a small/family restaurant feel. This seems happens to a lot of restaurants. They make money and move to a larger/better place, then they just go bad. Even though it's in walking distance from my house, I would have to drive a little for better.

Some of the best Pho I've ever had! #2 large pho, a salad roll, & a Ninkasi...Always hits the spot. Great atmosphere. Great service. Exceptionally great food.

I love this place. Used to be in a strip mall on Jean road but moved up into a much larger space. Banh mi is excellent! And a relative bargain at $6.

LaVang is awesome. Best Pho in Portland. You can't go wrong here. When I'm sick I get the pho extra spicy and I'm feeling better in no time. The salad rolls are great as well, fresh and delicious.

We went for dinner on a Saturday at 5:00. No issues with parking or waiting for seating or food. Friendly staff, great food! We ordered the #1 (pho) and the chicken bun. So good! The portions are huge, and the flavors are perfect.

Salad rolls were fair...probably my least favorite of all salad rolls I have had. chicken plate was fair- rice was crunchy. The customer service was fair. I have had a lot of Vietnamese food in my lifetime and likely will not go back.
